About
![]() I am based in the UK (Essex) and have been taking photographs for 30 years. My induction to the world of picture taking commenced when my parents bought me a Kodak "Brownie" camera "with flash contacts"! when I was about 7 years old. Armed with this device I took pictures of family holidays (and a lot of steam trains I seem to recall!) A Kodak 126 Instamatic followed (my sister's hand me down) before I took the plunge and bought my first 35mm SLR camera - a Cosina CT1. Ricoh's and Minolta's followed until I moved on to Nikon equipment 20 years ago. Processing my own colour slides together with black and white pictures both at home and at school enabled me to gain an all round appreciation of the art. I have never stopped taking photographs in all this time and my photographic skills have been very useful in connection with my previous occupations within the Insurance world. Photographic subjects have included motor accidents, major fires, thefts, storm damage and floods (including photographs of Koi swimming through one poor householders lounge!) The digital age has finally caught up with film and this has inspired me to move to Nikon SLR digital equipment in 2005. Feel free to contact me at any time via the contact page with any questions, ideas or assignments you would like to discuss. |
